New technologies to aid productivity for exploration, making it more time and cost-efficient, improving accuracy through ore-body knowledge, pricing and grading analytics, as well as safety in the exploration process
Technologies that can improve operational productivity, such as predictive maintenance technologies for machinery, precision technologies for extraction, and digitisation and automation
New approaches to increase safety of the exploration and extraction processes, including monitoring technologies (for air and water quality), and robotic/autonomous systems for hazardous or remote areas
Looking across the mining life cycle and exploring new ways to make it more sustainable. Key focus on the post-mining process, such as greening the supply chain through green transport solutions, renewable energy and storage, and electrification of equipment, as well as tailings rehabilitation (the sustainable rehabilitation, remediation, and restoration of leftover materials from mining)
Counteracting mining’s impact on the natural environment, and exploring new ways to protect and preserve these habitats, such as through financing ecosystem restoration, soil management, and MRV technologies. Particular focus in Western Australia on preservation of ancestral lands and prosperity.
Considering the mining industry’s impact on water bodies, and finding new technologies to aid with metal detection, waste water treatment and reduction, as well as production of green hydrogen using water and seawater
